Turnip

[Summer 2019 – Columbus, OH]

This summer, we grew two varieties of turnip; Seven Top and White Globe Purple. Seven top turnip variety does not produce an edible root.

After harvesting the potatoes, we grew turnip on the same bed in early September. Before planting the seeds, we added gelatin into the soil as a good nitrogen source. Other than regular watering, they do not need any special care. It is one of the easiest vegetables to grow in home gardens.
