[Summer 2019 – Columbus, OH]
This summer, we grew two varieties of carrots; Danvers and Scarlet Nantes. Carrot is one of the easiest vegetables to grow, which gives a high yield. They need regular watering and well-drained loose soil. After three and a half months, carrots are ready to harvest.
Butterfly caterpillars love carrot tops, other than that carrots do not get any pest damage. But unfortunately, this year, very few monarch butterflies were spotted in our garden.
