[Summer 2019 – Columbus, OH]
This year we grew purple sweet potatoes using a slip from a store-bought potato. It is one of the easiest vegetables to grow. After planting the sprouted sweet potato slip in a potato hill, other than regularly watering, it doesn’t need any special care. One can grow them even in a spacious enough container. You can enjoy its’ tasty, nutritious greens even before the plant produces roots.

How to sprout a sweet potato slip:
Cut a slip from a sweet potato root and carefully place it partially submerged in a glass of water using toothpicks as shown. When it grows few green shoots after about two to three weeks , we can plant it in the garden.
