[Summer 2019 – Columbus, OH]
This year we grew bell pepper from store-bought heirloom plants. Before planting them on the pepper bed, we added powdered eggshells to the soil to prevent blossom-end rot disease. We also grew green onions as a pest repellent. During the hot summer, we watered our plants in the morning, to minimize the spread of fungal diseases and to keep the soil moist. In the evening we sprayed neem oil.
