[Summer 2019 – Columbus, OH]
This is our very first experience of growing black beans. We used the seeds which we bought from a grocery store for cooking. In mid-June, we planted them in one section of our corn bed. Other than planting, we didn’t give any special treatment or care. In early September, we collected our first batch of black bean harvest. As it is super easy to grow, it is worth trying to grow them in every home garden.
Black bean is native to America, and it is high in fiber, protein, and vitamin A. This nutritious grain is an everyday staple in Latin American cuisine.
