Luffa

[Summer 2019 – Columbus, OH]

This year we grew two varieties of luffa; Smooth Luffa and Angled Luffa. In mid-May, we planted the seeds directly in the soil and put-up a bamboo trellis for it. They are one of the easiest vines to grow. They usually take three and a half months to give their first harvest. These vines love hot weather and need plenty of space. Both varieties grew well and didn’t get any pest damage or disease.
