In mid-May, we made a raised bed, then sprinkled the carrot seeds and covered with a thin layer of soil. Carrot needs regular watering and well-drained loose soil; less water can cause carrot root cracks. Monarch butterfly caterpillars love carrot greens. So it’s worth to share it with them as they add beauty and diversity into our garden. After three months, we harvested our carrots and grew them twice during the season, once in May and again in August.
