Bell pepper

[Summer 2017 & 2018 – Columbus, OH]

We used the seeds of store-bought bell peppers and ‘California Wonder’ variety to get the seedlings. Growing techniques are the same as other pepper varieties. We sprinkled the seeds on our pepper bed, lightly covered with a soil layer and did regular watering and weeding. To eliminate blossom end rot (calcium deficiency) condition, we added powdered eggshells into the soil. As companion plants, we grew basil to repel pests.
