[Summer 2017 & 2018 – Columbus, OH]
In 2017 we grew fingerling potatoes, and in 2018 we grew mini creamer potatoes. Each year, roughly two months before the growing season, we bought a bag of potatoes from the supermarket and let them sprout. Then whole potatoes were planted in the bed and hill up them with the growth of the plants. They need even watering and well-drained soil. After three months, plants started to die, and it was the indication to dig the ground to harvest potatoes. According to my experiences, homegrown fresh potatoes are rich in flavor than the ones in the supermarkets.
