Okra

[Summer 2017 – Columbus, OH]

In our first year of growing okra, we didn’t get a good harvest. But we managed to save some seeds for the next year. In our second year(2018), we had a blast!

[Summer 2018 – Columbus, OH]

Okra plants grow well in tropical and subtropical regions. This years’ exceptional hot summer made an excellent season for okra by boosting our harvest into an unexpected level. We harvested more than 10kg of okra from our three beds roughly having 30 plants. Low maintenance and zero pest damage made it super easy to manage. Okra pods mature very quickly, so we had to harvest okra every other day. We happily shared more than half of our fresh organic harvest with our friends and neighbors and tried numerous food recipes.
